His story
Rajeev Kahn, a Paris-based yoga instructor originally from Chicago, brings over 25 years of personal practice and more than two decades of teaching experience to his classes. His dynamic, precise, and enthusiastic style has impacted thousands of students across 12 countries. Exposed to meditation at age 11 and asana at 16, Rajeev was certified in Ashtanga in his 20s and Anusara in his 30s, but has since evolved his approach beyond these styles. Now in his late 40s, his classes are defined by vitality, safety, and playfulness, offering a holistic experience to his students.
Rajeev creates a supportive environment where students of all ages and abilities feel respected and empowered. His clear, honest instruction, paired with his passion for yoga, guides his students toward inner peace through Hatha Yoga. Rajeev’s dedication to fostering a sense of community and mindfulness has earned him a strong reputation in the yoga world, where his classes are known for balancing precision with a joyful, exploratory spirit.
Rajeev began his teaching career in the U.S. before co-founding London’s first Anusara studio, The Yoga Co-Op, in 2006. His journey then took him to Paris, where he joined the faculty of Rasa Yoga Rive Gauche and was featured in Lionel Pailles’ book Paris Yoga as a master teacher. After seven years in Paris, Rajeev became Director of Learning and Development for Pure Yoga in Asia, overseeing 200 teachers across multiple countries. He has taught at major yoga conferences and led retreats at Ulpotha in Sri Lanka. In 2019, Rajeev returned to Paris, where he currently teaches private and group classes at Rasa and Bandha Yoga studios.
Rajeev's primary teacher, Baba Hari Dass, is a renowned Ashtanga Yoga master and Karma Yoga proponent. Their meeting in 2000 profoundly influenced Rajeev, shaping his practice with patience, humor, and optimism. Rajeev continues his growth through regular visits to Mount Madonna Center, where he deepens his spiritual practice and embraces mindful living, starting with simple tasks like washing dishes for the community
